The Financial Analyst serves as a pivotal role in financial planning and decision support. Reporting to the Financial Analyst Manager, this position is responsible for developing accurate forecasts, reporting key metrics, and helping to drive strategic decisions through modeling and analysis. Additional duties include the creation and maintenance of financial models which are standardized across all divisions of the Company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: (include but are not limited to)
Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking, and process analysis
Consult with Manager to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making
Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
Assemble and summarize data to structure reports on financial status and risks
Conduct business studies on past, future, and comparative performance and develop forecast models
Analyze complex financial and managerial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management including presentations via PowerPoint
Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of services, expenses, and capital expenditures with comparatives to industry trends
Prepare rolling 12-month forecast for bank covenants
Prepare annual plans and quarterly re-plans, with year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter results, trends, and variance analysis
Prepare monthly departmental reports and conduct meetings with department leads
Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the finance function
Assist with annual budget and associated reports to be presented to management
Assist with ad hoc projects, as required
Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Proven working experience as a Financial Analyst
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications
Hands on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills
Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Self-starter, able to collaborate, identify needs and recommend solutions
Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving competencies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Contributes to team success

QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES
Required:
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting role
