Salary: Expected base pay rate for this role will be between $80,000 and $85,000 USD per year at the commencement of employment.

However, if hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis (pay rates may vary) and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other IMAX sponsored benefit programs.

Job Description

IMAX is looking for an Analyst to join the team who will assist in all aspects of the FP&A process for the Company. You’ll be set up to provide strong support for the IMAX’s internal budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the quarterly forecast and annual budget processes, performing detailed review and analysis of budget variances
• Assist in the preparation of forecasts including data mining, analysis, uploading of submissions to forecast model, and updating and ensuring the accuracy of data
• Develop and prepare a variety of gross box office analysis
• Assist in KPI identification and measurement, creating reports related to those key business KPIs
• Provide ad hoc, in-depth analysis on different business segments of IMAX
• Assist in enhancing and maintaining the corporate long-range plan and evaluating the valuation methodology of the business
• Generate and update monthly financial reports, coordinating and distributing departmental detail to operational managers
• Run, prepare, and analyze financial reports, including populating Executive Reporting templates and the monthly report for the Board of Directors
• Monitor annual budget monthly by comparing revenues and expenses by department
• Serve as a liaison to the different departments within the finance/accounting group

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of experience
• Overall understanding of budgeting and budget analysis
• Proven skills in analysis, statistics, and logic in developing and interpreting data
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Advanced modelling skills

• Detail oriented: achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved
• Knowledge of SAP software platforms such as BPC and BW a plus
• Experience in media and entertainment industry a plus
• Public company experience a plus
