What's exciting about the role

Lead analyst in the Supply Chain organization supporting the SVP of Supply Chain and his direct reports. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced financial analyst who is able to work independently with executive executive-level staff to support decision decision-making processes and maintain and publish recurring monthly and quarterly financial reports and metrics. This position works very closely with Sales Teams, other Finance managers, and functional Supply Chain line managers. as well to identify opportunities for cost improvement and identify process gaps that may pose a financial or control risk. The candidate will also be expected to present on and interpret the financial results of the business unit and assist the senior VP level staff management on in explaining their operating level results to C-level executives. This position will report to the Controller of the Supply Chain business unit and is a non-manager position.

Skills and Experience we desire

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial data and use financial models for forecasting.
• Track revenue and gross margin by market and product line, and expenses by cost center.
• Prepare reports on financial performance and evaluate them by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
• Study and analyze trends and forecasts to inform recommended actions.
• Monthly / Quarterly P&L Analysis
• Support the Supply Chain Controller in month end financial results calls
• Be primary interface with the FP&A department on questions and analysis around quarterly results and forecast submissions
• Management Reporting preparation and distribution to the Supply Chain VP's
• Coordinate the rolling forecast / annual budget cycle build up for Supply Chain business unit
• Determine appropriate allocation rates for allocating SC costs to various business units
• Partner with other functional SC analysts, IT department to drive improvements in Freight & Warehousing reporting
• Provide analytical support as needed for various management decision making issues as they arise
• Identify opportunities for IT automation, participate in reporting system discussions with FP&A and IT
• This position is a key business partner role between the Finance department and the Supply Chain organization.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting or related experience.
• Ability to work with managers throughout company in analyzing financial situations.
• Superior knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint.
• Business Objects experience required (Intermediate User). (please confirm)
• Excellent technical knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis techniques.
• Experience with P&L / Balance Sheet Analysis is required.
• Presentation skills are a must!
• Candidates must have very strong analytical skills and be able to learn the various supply chain processes to understand both the financial and operational impacts of business decisions.
• A strong background of VeriFone products is preferred along with an understanding of regional logistics and distribution processes.
• Excellent technical knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact with all levels of an organization
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
