Position Summary/Impact:

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst will be responsible for supporting the FP&A and strategic finance function at Akoya which includes financial reporting, modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and other data analysis. The optimal candidate will be tenacious, inquisitive and gracious with the ability to blend financial modeling, data analysis and strategic thinking with light project management skills. The opportunity exists to stretch beyond the strategic finance role and take on special projects within departments. The position will require a hands-on individual who can understand how products, commercial processes and systems drive the engine of our business and how they in turn impact our financial performance. This person will have the opportunity to interface with senior management and members of the C-Suite. The position will report to the Manager of FP&A. Title and salary dependent on skill, experience, and education.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Manager of FP&A and other team members to support the strategic finance function of the business which includes financial forecasting and analysis to guide strategic decision making, capital allocation, capital structure and key business activities.
  • Work on 5-year forecast including detailed revenue, and cost builds, OPEX, and capital structure.
  • Support the 3-statement model through updating actuals, developing support schedules, and revising input drivers.
  • Provide support in financial modeling, due diligence and market landscape for strategic finance activities including investments, corporate development, and capital raising.
  • Develop financial benchmarking metrics including trading comparables.
  • Develop financial models to vet business cases in support of new initiatives, new product introductions, and project analysis.
  • Lead or assist in the creation of ad hoc analysis including costing analysis and KPIs to drive greater understanding of business performance.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports, Board presentations and projects summaries in support of business and management objectives.
  • Support other business needs requiring advanced Excel analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field of study (e.g., Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant analytical experience (e.g., accounting, or financial analysis); though flexible based on quality of experience
  • Strong quantitative abilities
  • Power BI, PowerQuery and Netsuite experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build relationships.
  • Able to solve complex problems.
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, proficient in PowerPoint and Word

The hiring range for this position is $66,000 to $86,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
