To better support our growing business, Thornton Tomasetti has embarked on a major transformation of its business systems, focusing on the implementation of a new CRM and ERP. This multi-year project is intended to modernize Thornton Tomasetti’s Business Systems architecture and streamline many of it’s business needs. In support of this project and our ongoing efforts, are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Data Steward.
The Role
We have an immediate opportunity for a Data Steward, where you will be responsible for monitoring and validating master data records in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with a primary focus on company and contact data. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our data, ensuring that it meets quality standards and supports effective business operations.
Responsibilities
Regularly monitor the CRM and ERP systems to identify new data entries and changes to existing records.
Review and validate the accuracy and completeness of company and contact data, adhering to defined data standards and guidelines.
Identify and rectify any inconsistencies, errors, or duplicates in the data, taking appropriate corrective actions.
Conduct data quality checks and audits to identify areas for improvement and recommend data cleansing initiatives.
Collaborate with end users and stakeholders to gather and input new company and contact data into the systems.
Ensure that new data entries are properly classified, categorized, and tagged according to established data standards.
Conduct data validation checks on new entries to ensure accuracy and completeness before finalizing and integrating them into the master data.
Work closely with end users to address their data-related inquiries, issues, and requests.
Investigate and troubleshoot data problems, identifying the root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Provide guidance and support to end users on data entry and maintenance best practices, promoting data governance awareness.
Continuously assess and enhance data management processes, workflows, and documentation to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data governance policies, procedures, and controls.
Identify opportunities to leverage automation or technology tools to streamline data stewardship activities and improve data quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Proven experience in data management, data analysis, or a related role, preferably within a CRM or ERP environment.
Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data lifecycle.
Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems, preferably with experience in data entry, data validation, and record management.
Proficient in using data management and quality tools, such as data profiling, data cleansing, or data integration software.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and end users.
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
