Financial Systems Manager

Kilpatrick Townsend a large international law firm, is seeking a Financial Systems Manager for our Finance Department in our Atlanta office. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. The Financial Systems Manager is responsible for the management of the Firm’s Financial Applications and Systems. Responsibilities include direct management and control of the Firm’s financial database to include integration with other systems and applications, coordination of database related events within the financial services department and the Firm, compliance with associated Firm procedures, coordination with various supporting third parties, database related application upgrades and modifications, compliance with established performance procedures, trouble shooting and customer support of database related problems, validating the data integrity, ensuring proper back-up of data, and providing select database related reports on a special and regular basis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the central point of contact for all database related problems and issues, and the refinement, development and implementation of related procedures and internal controls.
  • Monitor and assess the customer support of the department providing additional training and counseling as required to reinforce importance.
  • Ensure responsiveness to database or associated application needs related to attorney, staff, vendor, and client.
  • Responsible for direct and continual coordination with the Firm’s Information Technology Department and supporting vendors regarding all Firm financial database issues.
  • Directly responsible for the timely implementation and coordination of application adjustments based on Firm needs.
  • Assess the performance of the financial database and recommend enhancements to ensure efficient and effective operation capable of meeting the Firm’s needs.
  • Assess the impact and validate the interface related to all non-financial systems of the Firm as they relate or impact upon the Firm’s financial database.
  • Prepare, validate, and distribute recurring and special financial reports.
  • Assist in the monitoring and development of procedures, policies, and processes to improve operation, internal controls, customer service and support.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • 5 years previous law firm experience related to information technology and financial support.
  • 3 years 3E specific experience, preferably including experience with the same version.
  • Ability to provide leadership, perform as a team leader and operate well under pressure.
  • Ability to integrate departmental needs with the needs of the other departments and the needs of the Firm.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple work tasks with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
  • Ability to analyze, assess possible problems, prioritize concerns, and make decisions.
  • Ability to motivate and empower others toward success.
  • Full awareness of and willingness to abide by the Firm’s policies, in particular those regarding confidentiality of financial information and securities trading.
  • Ability to adapt schedule to changing workload requirements and lead by personal example.
  • Ability to interface with partners, associates, clients, vendors, directors, managers, and support staff.
  • Skills to coordinate various resources to help others meet their objectives.
  • Act as a role model in helping others solve complex problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The annual pay range for this position in Atlanta only is $100,000 - $140,000.
