The Firearm Inventory Auditor is a position within our Firearms Department in various locations nationwide. The current opening will provide coverage in our Retail Stores.
The Firearms Inventory Auditor works 100% of the time at our stores that hold Federal Firearms Licenses. As a Firearms Inventory Auditor you are responsible for verifying firearms inventories, ensuring compliance with established internal policies and Federal Firearm Regulations. You will document and report discrepancies revealed from examining records and inventories, suspicious purchases or potential trafficking and straw purchases. A working knowledge of firearms and Federal Firearms Regulations is an asset to this position.
Essential Job Duties:(This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform and is not all-inclusive.)
Communicates effectively with fellow coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
Audit firearm records (ATF Form 4473), Acquisition & Disposition Records and internal operational records to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Makes necessary/allowed corrections/edits based on the findings of the Firearm Audit.
Prepares Firearm Inventory Audit reports containing all required information and corrections.
Successfully completes assigned training.
Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Minimum 21 years of age
Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance
Reliable transportation, and ability to meet 75% travel requirement; locally, and nationally by air as needed (Ohio area; other areas as needed)
Must be willing and able to become a listed Responsible Person with ATF, to include passing a Federal
Background check
Strong desire to work with people, team oriented.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills including verbal, non-verbal and active listening
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent work ethic
Computer literate and able to operate common office machines.
Bonus Skills:
Prior experience with the ATF
Bilingual skills (Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
Standing– Frequently throughout the Firearms Inventory Audits. Sitting– Occasionally throughout the inventory audits in order to complete the Firearm Audit. Bending– Frequently bending in all directions, subject to proper bending techniques. Reaching– Frequently as necessary to complete the firearm inventory verification. Walking– Frequently within the store. Climbing– Frequently to access elevated storage locations. Stooping– Frequently. Kneeling– Occasionally. Lifting/Carrying– Due to the nature of the pawn industry and the wide variety of firearms encountered, you will be lifting and carrying firearms and firearms in cases. The frequency of these lifts and the weight of the items handled will also vary. Employees may not lift or carry products or materials above the employee’s safe lifting and carrying amounts, or above any medical restriction. The maximum weight one person will handle ranges from 50-70 pounds. Employees must be capable of lifting 50 pounds. Tool Usage– No tools are used on a regular or routine basis during a normal workday.

Occasional = 20% of time or less
Frequent = 20-75% of the time
Continuous = 75% of the time or more
