Senior UI/UX Designer

DescriptionThe Senior UI/UX Designer will have a strong background in interaction design, user research, market research, prototyping and architecting optimal user flows for both mobile and desktop applications. You are responsible for creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices for complex and large-scale products. Your insights from market research will inform design strategies and ensure products meet user needs and industry standards. Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful: Job Duties Develop intuitive and engaging interaction designs that enhance user experience across various platforms. Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and mock-ups that effectively communicate design conceptsConduct thorough user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Implement usability testing, surveys, and interviews to gather insights and inform design decisionsAnalyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in our design solutions. Use findings to guide design strategies and ensure alignment with user needs and industry standardsPerform heuristic evaluations to identify usability issues in current designs and recommend actionable improvements. Use established usability principles to ensure the design meet high standards of user-friendliness and accessibilityDevelop detailed use journey maps that illustrate user experiences across different touchpoints. Use these maps to identify pain points and opportunities for enhancing satisfaction and engagementCreate a high-fidelity prototypes and interactive mock-ups to validate design concepts and gather feedback from stakeholders and users. Use tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Zeplin, etc.Architect best user flows for mobile and desktop applications, ensuring seamless and efficient user journey. Collaborate with product managers, developers, and vendors to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with technical constraintsCreate detailed visual design specifications and documentation for web and mobile platforms to ensure developers have a clear understanding of design intent and functionalityProduce and refine ready assets, including icons, graphics and visual elements, for use in digital products. Ensure final designs are pixel-perfect and ready for implementation, aligning with brand guidelines and design systemsWork closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and marketing, to ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience across all digital touchpointsContribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability of design across various productsEssential Skills Minimum 7 years of experience as an Interaction Designer (UX/UI) in corporate product design with a focus on mobileExpert knowledge and proven track record designing for mobile (native apps and mobile web), desktop and responsive designExperience practicing corporate design with a clean, modern aesthetic, validated and showcased through an online portfolioExpert software skills using Figma, Zeplin, Adobe Suites, and/or InVisionExperience creating style guides, pattern libraries, and other design system solutionsAbility to create use case scenarios, complex user flows/information architecture, wireframes, mock-ups, UI and visual specifications and interactive prototypes (Lo-Fi and Hi-Fi) for web and mobile platformsFamiliarity with design validation testing; user research skills a plusAbility to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlinesAbility to deliver effective stakeholder presentations to both peer and executive level audiencesWorking knowledge of HTML and CSS with Java or some coding skills a plusAbility and passion to understand the user mind-set, natural behaviors, emotions and needs with deep empathyExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsMinimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design, Multimedia Design, Information Architecture, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction HCI, Design, - or other related fields of study or equivalent experienceLocation: Hillsboro, OR 97124 | San Jose, CA95134 | Rocklin, CA95765 (HYBRID) Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $125k - $131k annually + annual bonus Target Compensation inRocklin, CA 95765: $137k - $145k annually + annual bonus Target Compensation in San Jose, CA 95134: $157k - $165k annually + annual bonus Benefits options include: Traditional medical, dental, and vision coverage401K matching up to 5% per pay periodAccrue up to 17 days of Paid Time Off your first year of employment11 paid federal holidaysSpecial employee pricing on lending products such as mortgage, auto, and personal loans (eligibility for special employee pricing is subject to standard account requirements and underwriting criteria)What makes First Tech different?
