We have an excellent career opportunity for a Fixed Income Trader in our New York office. Individual will be responsible for the day- to- day execution of Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income orders identified by Portfolio Management. The Global Trading Function is part of the Investments Division within BNP Paribas Asset Management devoted to Trading, Market Solutions and COO & Sell Side Relationship Management. The trading team covers the globe with desks located in Asia, Europe and the U.S. In the US, the Global Trading Function operates a Multi-Asset trading desk physically split between Boston and New York. Although traders are expected to trade Multi-Assets, we are looking to expand our Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income expertise to complement existing experience in Equities, Listed Derivatives and ETF’s.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong trading expertise on Fixed Income products.
    • Foreign Exchange (Spot, Forward, Swaps and Options).
    • Fixed Income: Rates, Credit IG and HY, Emerging Markets, Money Markets.
    • OTC Derivatives: IRS, ILS, index and single name CDS, Swaptions, and TRS.
  • Working knowledge across the following products a plus:
    • Equities, ETF’s.
    • Listed Derivatives.
  • Build true partnerships with Investment teams.
    • Seek optimal client satisfaction through execution, communication, and true understanding of PM needs.
    • Play an integral part on a ‘valued added’ basis to investment process by leveraging market knowledge and counterparty contacts to improve performance and influence outcomes.
    • Share market intelligence with Portfolio Management teams.
  • Manage relationships with brokers / counterparties.
    • Maintain and develop strong, transparent and constructive relationships with brokers to obtain the best service for the firm’s clients.

Role requirements: qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ trading experience on Foreign Exchange, and/or Fixed Income cash and derivatives.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms such as Bloomberg, BidFX, FXAll, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, and Portware.
  • Good knowledge of connectivity and OMS systems (Aladdin experience would be ideal).
  • Strong computer skills, with advanced skills in Excel and Bloomberg API.
  • Knowledge of VBA, Python or Tableau Software.
  • Formulate, analyze data and perform quantitative analysis from large data set.
  • Strong culture of compliance and risk management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Math, Accounting or a related discipline coupled with excellent academic credentials.

Physical presence in BNPP AM’s office(s) is an essential function of this position. This role has the flexibility of being hybrid, consisting of an in office and remote working component.

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York City is between $150,000 to $180,000 annually. Actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
