Under the general direction of the Director of Field Operations or designee, this role is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising and evaluating the operational, maintenance and acquisition programs for all Tennant Americas vehicles and related equipment.
GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:
Responsible for the Americas Fleet department
Responsible for supporting and driving Tennant’s sustainability goals through Fleet Management
Analyze key business drivers and look for additional efficiencies as appropriate, to recommend, design and develop methods for cost reduction and improved efficiency
Generate actionable ideas for business improvement based on analytics and partner with leadership to execute against them
Manage operation and maintenance on Tennant vehicles, including annual fleet vehicle replacement schedule for sales and service
Build effective work relationship with employees and customers
Collaborate and manage relationship with Tennant’s third-party fleet vendors, specifically ARI
Develop and maintain outside service provider relationships
Oversee acquisition and disposal of company vehicles and related fleet equipment
Oversee DOT issues related to fleet
Focus on Safety, Service, Cost, Professionalism and Respect
Investigate and resolve all complaints, questions and problems
Enforce rules and apply policies fairly and consistently
Oversee and manage all associated budgets
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
5+ years of experience in a similar or related role in Fleet
Bachelor's degree in a related field required
Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures, including budgeting, planning, personnel management, inventory control and records management
Experience developing strategies to support goals and objectives critical to the business unit
Previous contract management experience
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
Ability to maintain effective working relationship with departments, employees and managers at all levels of the internal organization, as well as vendors
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the scope and types of repairs, inspection, and maintenance performed at the terminal/garage level required
Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate computer operations and word processing, spreadsheet, and database software skills
Working knowledge of environmental safety, chemicals, and waste
Working knowledge of various trade contracts and unions
