The Opportunity:
Are you ready to be part of something truly groundbreaking? As Demand and Inventory Planner at Flip Shop, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize e-commerce. You'll be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory and stock-outs.
We are seeking an experienced Planner with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in e-commerce or social commerce. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, buying and accounting teams. In this role you will be external facing, prior experience working with vendor or brand partners is required.
Responsibilities:- 1. Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and meet customer demand.
- Monitor inventory levels in relationship to current sales trends.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, seasonality and content virality to forecast future demand accurately.
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and develop strategies to minimize excess stock.
- 2. Demand Forecasting:
- Collaborate with buying team and vendor partners to gather insights into upcoming promotions, product launches, and marketing campaigns.
- Build and utilize forecasting models and tools to predict future demand and adjust inventory plans accordingly.
- Regularly review forecast accuracy and make adjustments as necessary to improve forecast performance.
- 3. Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, fill rates, and in-stocks.
- Conduct root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to streamline inventory management processes.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in inventory planning or supply chain management, preferably in ecommerce or social commerce.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) ideal, but not required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, and KPIs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with demand planning software or forecasting models.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and marketplace dynamics.
$70,000 - $100,000 a year
Base salary and total compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
