Food & Beverage Intern

Director of Food & Beverage

GENERAL PURPOSE:
This is an internship position for the 2023 summer season. Assist the Director of Food & Beverage and Banquet leadership in the daily operations of the department to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with and procedures while meeting/exceeding guest service goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn and understand how to support the development and implementation of business strategies for the department which are aligned with the property’s overall mission, vision, values and strategies.

Understand the Food & Beverage department’s financial objectives by developing effective processes within the departments.
Assists in attracting patrons by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs
Maintains safe working conditions within department
Meet with account managers on a periodic basis to control purchases and inventory
Monitor staff adherence to service standards.

Learn and utilize leadership skills and motivation techniques to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction.
Evaluate and audit food & beverage service offerings and suggest improvements as seen necessary.
Monitor industry trends and make suggestions to leadership.
Prepare reports, as requested, to evaluate work activities and improve management decision-making.
Coordinate communication within outlets.

Adhere to and enforce all food safety standards.
Other duties as assigned.
