Overview
Food Service Retail Associate performs duties relative to service excellence by demonstrating courteous and prompt service, accuracy in food preparation, line set-up, and presentation. Demonstrates knowledge of cash handling procedures and competence in use of cash register hardware and software. Demonstrates a working knowledge of food service sanitation practices and food safety guidelines. Promotes and maintains a safe work environment for team as well as our customers.
What you will do
Demonstrates the ability to provide consistent, high quality meal service to all retail customers. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to set-up, replenish, and break-down service lines/stations, following established Department policies and procedures. Assists other team members in completing tasks, and serving customers, prioritizing the “customer first” mindset at all times. Maintains open line of communication with kitchen team to avoid delays in food service.
Demonstrates the ability to operate the POS cash register, count register accurately, make bank deposits and follows appropriate cash handling procedures.
Demonstrates commitment to customer service by placing service to the retail customer at the forefront of every interaction completed throughout the day. Demonstrates positive interaction and support to all team members, to provide seamless, timely and accurate meal service to the customer.
Demonstrates the knowledge of basic food preparation techniques including receiving, storing, preparation, holding and chilling of food items. Possesses knowledge of weights and measurements as it relates to volume measurement. Demonstrates the competence to complete prep work including, but not limited to slicing lunch meat, chopping fruits & vegetables, preparing salads and sandwiches, short order grill cook, specialty pizza prep, handcrafted specialty coffee/tea hot and cold beverages, etc. Serves in Retail locations demonstrating competence in food presentation, proper portion control, and plating techniques.
Demonstrates the ability to operate various kitchen equipment. Demonstrates the competency to properly clean and sanitize equipment. Maintains overall cleanliness of food preparation, service and customer retail areas.
Maintains a working knowledge of food safety, infection control and sanitation regulatory compliance requirements and Food & Nutrition Services policies & procedures and consistently complies with temperature, quality, sanitation & storage at all key steps in the process. Follows First-in/First Out food storage and labels and dates all product according to Food & Nutrition Service policy) and alerts management of any discrepancies to the norm.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
Experience
1 year Food Service experience in retail and/or food preparation (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
Food Handlers Card (FH) - State Food Safety within 30 Days(Required) or
Servesafe Certification - National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (Preferred)
ServSafe Allergen within 180 Days (Required)
