The Culinary and Brand team is responsible for the recipes & menu creation aimed to delight our customers. The recipes are the heart of Marley Spoon and are carefully and fully developed, tested and shot by our team.

We aim to consistently bring delicious and inspirational cooking into the kitchens of people, while preventing food waste. By understanding our customers we create and share quick, easy and wholesome recipes.

We are looking for a Food Stylist to be part of our Creative Content team in Europe, based in Berlin. You will be reporting directly to our Food Styling and Photo Shoot Manager and you'll help us achieve the highest standards when it comes to food and recipes imagery.

This position is based out of our Berlin office.

Your job:

• Cook and style multiple recipes (heroes and cooking instructions) images daily, selecting your own props and backgrounds for each set in order to produce imagery in line with our guidelines
• Collaborate and assist senior food stylists and photographers in creating high-quality imagery following Marley Spoon styling and photography guidelines
• Support in sourcing ingredients and preparing the recipes to be shot in each session
• Check and prepare assigned recipes before shooting, communicating with recipe developers and recipe editors whenever necessary
• Being able to easily switch between cooking and styling tasks when required
• Support the shooting team and the test kitchen manager in continuously improving working flows, maintaining and updating props selection, backgrounds, styling equipment, shooting and kitchen space
• Support in following food safety standards in our shooting and testing kitchens

Requirements

• Professional chef training, restaurant kitchen experience or a portfolio of work with a solid knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and plating with an eye for new techniques and trends
• Collaboratively working with food stylists and photographers on set, you have the ability to adapt rapidly to changes in a fast-paced creative environment
• Have an understanding and extensive experience working with fresh ingredients, showing the ability to execute recipes, step by step, adjusting and giving valuable feedback where necessary
• Experience in a (professional/commercial) food photography environment and/or in food styling and cooking for videos is a bonus
• Highly organised, good time manager and with an outstanding attention to detail
• Have a very good eye for composition, demonstrate creative ways of executing your ideas and visions based on the Marley Spoon Style Guidelines
• You have a portfolio that demonstrates your skill level and care for attention to detail (please submit with your application)
• Fluent in English
• Basic computer skills (Office incl. Excel, Google docs, etc.)
• Positive attitude and can-do spirit!
