Position Summary:

We are looking for individuals with diverse talents and backgrounds to join our nationally recognized team that is committed to providing exciting and healthy food options to students, faculty and staff on campus. Ensures a proper and orderly flow of procuring, receiving and processing all supplies so needed items are on hand as required according to menus including cycle menus and special events. Keep and maintain orderly and clean storerooms, coolers, freezers and all other assigned areas. Ensures proper receiving, storing and rotation of products. Ensures the security of storage areas as well as taking and calculating accurate inventories at month end or as assigned. Work independently both within unit as well as out. Transport items between units and assigned off campus areas in a timely manner.



Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying, up to 75 pounds for short periods of time (during receiving, stocking and delivering).
  • Must possess basic math skills relative to inventory value and conversion calculations.
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to pass proficiency testing for math and computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English to customers, other employees and staff members.
  • Must be able to adapt to working in various conditions including wet and/or icy conditions, temperature extremes, both hot and cold and excessive noise.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, have finger and handling dexterity and perform quickly and efficiently, and must be able to stand for periods of time up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Must have valid Ohio driver's license with less than six points, and must be capable to drive at all times.
  • Must be able to visually inspect product and storage areas and report all variances including color discrepancies to the manager.
  • Must have knowledge of safe food handling practices.
  • Must be able to work independently with the appropriate amount of supervision.
  • Ability to visually differentiate colors for the purposes of food safety.
  • Successful completion of Ohio Person-in-Charge food safety training class (or within one year of hire).


Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • Prior successful experience with food items and warehousing techniques desirable.
  • Prior successful experience with a computerized inventory system preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills as relates to purchasing, receiving, and inventory.
  • Managerial ServSafe Certified.
  • Prior successful work experience working with students and a diverse multi cultural staff.

This position is 35 hours/week, approximately nine months/year (early August - early May) and is eligible for all full time benefits. Primary shift is Monday-Friday, 6:00am-1:30pm. Must be able to work occasional weekend and holidays based on operational needs.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
