JOB DESCRIPTION
The Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) is a co-located cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to manage the actions to improve current model quality. The PVT/Quality Engineer is a SPOC for FAE responsibilities which include the following...
• ECB/BSAQ/VRT/Quality
• VRT functions (team meetings, management reviews, VQRs)
• Lead for Process/Manufacturing issues, except those that are plant/operator/maintenance controllable.
• VOME VRT Core Projects - VOME direction
• Support implementation of core group specific strategies (EOL, alignment, tire room, tooling, and processes)
• Confirm alignment with VOME standards for added process/tooling quality improvement actions.
• Address ECB using BSAQ process
• Support clarification of GSAR by reviewing warranty claims, QNPS, verbatims, and additional internal indicators (First run, CAL, 25 mile drive, M10) as required
• Review daily ECB binning with VRT team for proper responsibility (Process, Design, Supplier Design, Supplier Process)
• Represent VOME at VRT to address manufacturing controllable items based on plant internal quality indicators (QLS, FCPA)
• Assist in the development and management of the BSAQ roadmaps to deliver the VRT objectives (CPU and R/1000 reductions) by implementing revisions to the following:
• Tooling, equipment, and facilities
• Process
• Error proofing implementation (DC tools, barcode scan, & pick lights)
• Lead / Participate in the Identification of Common Cross Vehicle line concerns for resolution.
• Support VOME Advanced Feasibility group to provide them the quality-related information/data they require from all plants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Core VO Deliverables Performed by PVT
• Process Sheets/PFMEAs/Corporate Process Initiatives
• GSPAS maintenance
• Process development and production process sheet updates for PVT released new content
• Delta Audits (review process sheet deck per VOPQUG219) & issue resolution
• ECN maintenance per WERS releases & VRT directed initiatives
• Process deck maintenance (Parts, Tools, Process, Usages, Orphan & Unclaimed parts, etc) per VOPGONA206
• Local PFMEA updates
• Local Control plan approvals (as required) and ongoing adherence (VOPQUG-051)
• Support plant process investigation and compliance to the standards for GERT
• Launch/Process Support (for those PVT's without a Resident Manufacturing Program Team (MPT): Reference Manufacturing Program Team R&R document for a full description)
• Major program launches (PVT is incremental support from MP1 through OKTB, that still allows for the PVT VOME engineers to maintain all PVT responsibilities)
• Minor programs and running changes as agreed to between PVT/MPT management which entail:
• Assembly feasibility to be done by MPT and Core.
• AIMS meetings: Issue resolution, validation and documentation
• Change Control, review all WERS concerns, assess for VO impact (Determine tooling, equipment, facilities and labor costing)
• Tooling, equipment and facilities development, buyoff and installation
• Lead core functional responsibilities including, EOL, HLA, alignment, fluid fill, tire room, AVIS, and other FAE/BCE tooling and processes.
• Error Proofing updates and/or additions
• AIS updates aligned with new Teledata/Broadcast codes
• Vacca Matrix (Total Plant Content)
• Support in plant trials and prove-out associated with:
• Engineering concerns, MCR actions, Alerts and PSOs
• TPPS studies/TISS reports
• PVT manage-the-change process (MTC) FAP02-057
• Safety & ergonomic concern evaluation and resolution (Zero red ergonomic concerns)
• Part complexity evaluations and resolutions
• Corporate Strategy implementation - aligned with VOME FAE/BCE Advanced Feasibility and Planning group
• Manage overall PVT program and OPD budgets (VOME PVT Checkbook for tooling, equipment and facilities):
• Process PNs, RQ's through PO release
• Process PFR documentation
• Perform regular uncommitted funds reviews for all PVT impacted PINS
• New Model Launch PVT led Scorecard meeting report outs/reviews from through OK-To-Buy
• Support for containment on Stop Ships. Support VOME PAC papers (Stop Ships, D-PAC, FSA) for root cause identification and containment.
• Assist with Incoming Quality (IQ) and vendors on part quality issues
• Perform a new COP Health Chart Assessments on minor launch as required
• 6-Sigma
• Support effort for all VOME PVT engineers to be Black Belt or Green Belt certified
• Utilize 6-Sigma methodology to drive issue resolution
• Support VRT/VQR report out with manufacturing 6 Panel presentations
• SC/ECB /Health Charts
• Utilize data from VRT Health Charts and Mfg BSAQ to prioritize projects
• ME Tooling/Facilities VIM/SC matrix and incapable process/FTT support
• ME Tooling/Facilities VIM/SC Matrix containment/resolution
• Update Control Plan to reflect required changes from VIM
• Support tooling, equipment and facilities throughput concern resolutions from VIM
• Assist maintenance and automation engineer with troubleshooting (tooling and equipment)
• Support corporate labor initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (Engineering)
• Experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with automotive assembly tooling, processes, and facilities
• Ability to work in a team environment and with limited on site supervision
