(Foster Care) Receiving Care Case Manager

SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED
Provide case management services to 15-20 children (case load will vary depending on census). Supervise the intake for each placement and provide support for the child and foster parents. This includes: Ensuring that each child's needs are met; providing the child with needed services and supporting the foster family; in partnership with the Licensing team ensuring that each foster home is in compliance with all Olive Crest Foster Family Agency policies and State policies/WAC’s; educating, counseling, training, and supporting foster parents in meeting the foster child's overall needs and addressing any issues that arise; working collaboratively with other stakeholders to meet the children and families’ needs as well as represent quality foster care and reunification work in the community.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cultivate contacts and relationships with outside agencies and individuals that have both direct and indirect impact on the case. These include:
a. State Social Workers
b. Identified Stakeholders
c. School Personnel
d. Placement Workers or Referring Agencies
e. State Regional Personnel
f. Mental Health Professionals
2. Initiate and complete all documentation including:
a. Placement papers
b. Medical forms
c. Needs and services plans (reports)
d. Treatment plans
e. Case manager contact records
f. Home visits
g. Quarterly reports
h. All other documentation described in the Policies and Procedures Manual
3. Monitor and supervise foster homes on case-load to assure compliance with Washington Administrative Code regarding foster care and COA (Council on Accreditation) compliance.
4. Develop and maintain rapport with foster families to ensure a supportive relationship to help guide them through the foster care system
5. Clarify all visits and service plan regarding natural family with state social worker. Support and encourage natural family to comply with service plan.
6. Attend court hearings, Family Team Decision Making meetings, and general staffing’s on behalf of children assigned to your caseload
7. Respond to and attend to details of crisis situations that may arise during working and non-working (on call) hours. Provide after hour availability to assigned foster families for crisis situation.
8. Participate in Program Team meetings on Thursday mornings and individual supervision with Case Manager Supervisor/Clinical Supervisor.
9. Be available after hours to take Receiving Care calls from the state; call families about children needing placement; partner with the state to find long term placements for the children in receiving care homes; provide therapeutic support to the children and families in the these homes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Bachelor’s or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following: Social work; social welfare; marriage, child and family counseling; child psychology; child development; counseling psychology; social psychology; clinical psychology; educational psychology; or education with emphasis on counseling.
2. Previous experience working with at-risk children and families.
3. Proficient Microsoft Suite computer skills.
4. Maintain training, experience, knowledge, and demonstrate skills needed to effectively manage cases.
5. Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing duties.
6. Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation to CA intake and to the designated administrator or supervisor.
7. Know and comply with rules established in the staff qualification WAC.
8. Comply with federal and state anti-discrimination laws related to personnel policies and procedures.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience in a culturally diverse work place.
2. Master’s Degree in related field.
3. Child Welfare experience.
4. Case Management experience.
SALARY $22 - $24 an hour, Full-time 40 hours, Non-exempt
