As the Financial Operations Manager, reporting into VP of Payroll Operations, you will play the primary role in monitoring payroll operations that govern the cashflow for Fuego, and acting as a payroll operations accountant.The Role. . .• Collect on and reconcile customer cash accounts, ensuring detailed recording and posting of general ledger entries• Monitoring and reporting on the daily cash inflows and outflows, and forecasting the cash position for short- and long-term planning• Proactively monitoring customers’ payments data and trends and raising alerts to mitigate financial risk, while proactively escalating day-to-day customer cashflow issues such as under payment or payment delays• Monitor customer or prospective customer risk profiles, escalating where appropriate, also serving as escalation point for sales when assessing viability of new customers• Bank account reconciliation and journal posting to match financial records with Fuego ledgers• Ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and regulations, such as accounting standards and payroll compliance e.g., monitoring and managing garnishments• Coordinating with internal functions providing guidance and/or resolutions e.g. our support services team for any money movement related customer escalations and finance functions/stakeholders to ensure funds availability• Coordinating with 3rd party service providers to resolve issues with fund transfers or transaction processing inquiries• Line management responsibility for the operations accountant responsible for cash collections related to payroll services and associated holiday cover• Supporting the development and implementation of cashflow improvement initiatives, such as process automation or process change and change managementThe Ideal Candidate. . .• At least 5 –7 years of experience in cash management, cash applications or credit & collections roles and 3 years management experience• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in cash management, cash applications or credit & collections. Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred• Knowledge of cash management, financial analysis, account reconciliation and balancing processes• Knowledge of banking and transaction processing (i.e. ACH and wire processing) including concepts and principles• Ability to analyze data, explain results and demonstrates good business judgement• Attention to detail, accuracy; ability to maintain confidentiality, risk awareness and compliance• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
