The primary responsibilities for this role are the preparation and coordination of the federal and state tax compliance and tax provision for the Company. The Senior Tax Accountant reports to the Tax Director.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES• Preparation of federal and state income/franchise tax returns, utilizing CorpTax software, in accordance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data and documentation for tax return preparation.• Preparation of federal and state estimated tax and extension payment calculations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to tax authorities. Monitor payment deadlines and coordinate with finance teams to optimize cash flow management.• Assist with tax budget forecasting by analyzing historical tax data and trends. Identify potential tax liabilities or savings opportunities and provide recommendations to management.• Support the preparation of the consolidated US current and deferred income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740. Analyze financial data, calculate taxes, and document assumptions and conclusions.• Coordinate with other Fox business contacts to address cross-functional tax issues (e.g. indirect taxes such as sales and use tax, property tax, cross-border tax withholding, etc.).• Conduct tax research and apply findings to ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations. Stay knowledgeable with new tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization's tax compliance and reporting obligations.• Participate in tax audits initiated by tax authorities, respond to inquiries, and provide requested documentation. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and address audit findings in a timely manner.• Handle tax notices received from taxing authorities by reviewing and analyzing notices to determine required actions and deadlines. Correspond with tax authorities to resolve inquiries, disputes, and issues, and minimize potential penalties.• Research and resolve various tax matters by conducting tax research, analyzing complex tax issues, and providing guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders.• Establish good working relationships with other tax, operational, and finance contacts in various business units by fostering collaboration and communication on tax-related matters. Work with outside consultants on various tax projects, leveraging external expertise to support the organization's tax objectives.• Maintain the tax calendar to track important tax deadlines and compliance requirements. Manage deadlines effectively, prioritizing tasks and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely submission of tax filings and payments.WHAT YOU WILL NEED• Bachelor’s degree required, accounting major preferred• Master’s degree in taxation or CPA preferred• Minimum 4 years of accounting or tax experience, media industry or Big 4 experience a plus• Strong proficiency in general accounting, financial analysis, and Excel (vlookup and pivot tables)• Working knowledge of Corptax and Alteryx a plus• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills• Must be discreet, detail-oriented, analytical, and able to multi-task with an attention for accuracy• Must be dependable with ability to problem solve and function independentlyWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
