Since launching in 2013, we now operate in Chicago, DC-metro, Dallas, and Austin, and we continue to scale within those markets, and beyond.  


Dom’s Kitchen & Market. We're a team of food industry experts, excited to share our knowledge of hospitality. We pride ourselves in offering well-crafted, locally-sourced food, in an environment of discovery. We thrive on sharing space at our neighborhood table.  


Operating two stores in Chicago, we’re looking forward to welcoming new stores to better serve our team, customers and communities.  


About the Role: Overview


We’re in-search of a hands-on, strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO), who possesses a true passion for food, service and hospitality.  With a strong vision for the future of omni-channel retail, and the desire to bring it to life - the COO will own key business units to create and drive operational excellence to fuel our continued growth across the Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen & Market brands.  


Overall, the COO will be in lock-step with the CEO and executive team, helping to chart the course for the present and future of Outfox with their proven experience in defining retail, eCommerce & expansion strategy, driving performance and operational excellence, and relentlessly executing day-in and day-out.  


About the Role: Responsibilities
  • Translate & communicate our vision into actionable strategic goals to meet performance targets, and profitable growth in both our short- and long-term plans.
  • Deploy KPIs for the business, and ensure internal and external systems & processes are established to meet or exceed those KPIs.
  • Lead, develop, & actively inspire effective leaders across the retail, culinary, development and other support functions, spearheading new initiatives and continuous improvements, with a keen focus on store operations & hospitality.  
  • Improve engagement & communication across the organization & brands, arbitrating any conflict for optimal resolution & outcomes.
  • Support the continued integration of the two brands, identifying synergies, and leveraging their unique, and complementary, attributes.  
  • Empower others to take ownership & succeed, influencing leaders to achieve individual and team objectives; challenge others to reach their full potential and encourage them to retain ownership for their results; identify & mentor talent across the organization.  
  • Advocate & foster a cohesive internal Company culture across our Outfox Hospitality brands, in an effort to deliver a best-in-class employee experience. 
  • Expand the company’s influence throughout the industry and among its customer base, strengthening its reputation for excellence and commitment to quality, enlightened hospitality, product curation, and overall experience.

About You: Experience
  • Proven, and extensive, operations experience in a scaling retail business of 15+ years in the food, restaurant, and / or hospitality industry.  At least five years as a senior, executive leader within a multi-unit, geographically-dispersed organization with responsibility across multiple business functional areas.
  • Demonstrated success in taking a company to that next level, increasing top-line revenue growth, leveraging labor, improving margins, with strong P&L and balance sheet management and solid financial and business acumen.
  • Strong strategic capabilities alongside process design & operational leadership, that has successfully delivered in a dynamic environment.  
  • Reputed track-record as a people-first team builder, with the skills to develop, lead, inspire, and motivate that team to operate successfully.  
  • Proven ability to succeed in a resource-constrained environment.
