About the job:

We’re looking for an entry-level individual who is super passionate about the startup and tech industry and is interested in getting involved in events, community management, newsletter and social media management. Free Agency curates a number of events & develops media properties (podcasts, shows) that revolve around early-stage startups & their stories. We support those who are attempting to change how the world works, and we need your help to support even more founders, tech employees, and world changers.

Note: Free Agency operates on high expectations. You will learn more here than you might be able to imagine — working here has been called "the best education in tech" — but you will also be expected to operate with an extremely high bar for quality and effort, even as an intern.

You'll work closely with the CEO and Chief of Staff to:

• Help maintain a startup newsletter (>15k subscribers), including content system management via beehiiv & regular distribution of pre-written content

• Manage a Discord community through direct community interaction, automation, infrastructure, and high-touch engagement

• Schedule releases across several social media accounts including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.

• Facilitate marketing around events, including Lu.ma management, newsletter blasts, day-of coordination re: event speakers &, help with general event logistics

Requirements:

• Residence in New York City is preferred, but remote is ok.

• An evidenced passion for the startup ecosystem.

• Ability to coordinate with a variety of stakeholders; excellent communication & organizational skills.

• Availability to work nights/weekends as needed, especially for evening events & off-hours social media posts.

• Polished writing skill & adept storytelling.

Compensation:

$16-$20 per hour, depending on experience. The job will be 20-35 hours/week, with the opportunity for advancement very quickly if it's the right fit.
