Freelance Writer

The Archdiocese of Chicago (AoC) is the third largest diocese in the United States and serves more than 2.2 million Catholics. The Archdiocese, pastored by Cardinal Blase J. Basic Functions:

Must speak and write fluently in Spanish. Writes two articles of varying lengths and types on a monthly basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Must speak and write fluently in Spanish. *

2. Writes two articles for publication in Catolico per month. *

3. Ensures that texts are properly researched. Maintaining originality in the work. Proofreads own assignments to detect and correct errors.

4. Submits completed works via the requisite channels and by the assigned date.

5. Responsible for creating written materials for the newspaper, our corresponding websites, and other media outlets. Produce high-quality and accurate content about current or upcoming events.

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES

Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications or equivalent.

Education Preferred: Advanced degrees and/or training in related field with theological focus.
