Freight Forwarding Apprentice

You'll participate in Harper Community College's and DB Schenker's two-year learning/work program as a Freight Forwarding Apprentice.

You will assist to organize shipments to move goods from the Schenker Shippers to end customers or final point of distribution.

This will be a rotational program through all relevant departments in Airfreight / Ocean Freight and Customs Brokerage.

As an apprentice at DB SCHENKER, you will earn an Associate's Degree in Supply Chain Management from Harper College along with a Freight Forwarder Apprenticeship Certification granted by the Department of Labor.

After completing the program, you will be assigned to one of the Branch or Operations Centers for Air/Ocean or Brokerage.

What you will do:

You will meet with our Harper Student Apprentice Coaches and DB Schenker mentors for updates and guidance throughout the program.
Your attendance is required for college classes and DB Schenker work training.
In this role, you will be assigned to rotations based on the management's directives.
You will assist while learning how to research and resolve operational problems.
Your training will include a rotational training plan throughout our Chicago Branch locations and Operational Centers
