About the role
We're Looking for a Staff Accountant who will play a critical role in driving the overall integrity of our financial records, assisting with daily accounting procedures and month-end close. Importantly, you will own the monthly accounting and analyses of our managed properties, including preparing financial statements, interfacing with Partners, and overseeing cash management activities. The ideal candidate for this role has a strong foundation in accounting, analytical rigor, and experience engaging with top-level management and/or external partners. Prior experience with property agreements and 3rd party property owner accounting is a plus. You jump in and solve problems and troubleshoot quickly, but also know when to ask for help. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing start-up and play a key role in shaping our Finance function.
What You’ll Do
Qualifications
BS degree in Accounting required with at least 2-3 years of experience
Proven ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
Full cycle accounting experience
Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred; ability to automate reporting via saved searches a plus
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting entries and financial records
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to translate details into actionable responses
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Self-directed and willing to learn new things, ask questions, and promote customer experiences
Preferred but not required: Experience working with property agreements and property owners strongly preferred; full-cycle payroll experience; knowledge of Expensify, RAMP or other expense management programs
