We are looking for an experienced Front Desk Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate should be friendly, organized and have excellent customer service skills. The Front Desk Agent will be responsible for greeting guests, answering phones, taking reservations, providing information about the hotel and its amenities, and ensuring the smooth running of the front desk operations. The successful candidate will also be expected to handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following

  • Greet and complete established check-in procedures for arriving guests on a daily basis, using both manual and computerized methods, in order to ensure guests are satisfied and in rooms as requested.
  • Facilitates guest departure (check-out) on a daily basis by following established manual and computer procedures in order to close guest accounts and open the room for the next sale.
  • Maintains good customer relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses, in person and on the telephone.
  • Operated PBS equipment by accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wake-up calls, and paging guests to provide guests with timely and efficient service.
  • Perform the duties of a Front Desk Agent including express checkouts
  • Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts.
  • Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.
  • Posts guest charge purchase transactions not posted by the front desk cashier.
  • Transfers charges and deposits to master accounts.
  • Verifies all account postings and balances.
  • Monitors the current status of coupons, discounts, and other promotional programs.
  • Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front desk office statistics.
  • Prepares a summary of cash, check and credit card activities.
  • Summarized results of operations for management.
  • Use posting machines, computers, and other front office equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Understand and use computers and related equipment.
  • Speak and write clearly to report financial information.
  • Telephone and guest relations etiquette and skills experience.
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Accounting background preferred.
  • Previous hotel experience preferred.
  • Experience handling cash, accounting problems, and general administrative tasks.
  • High school or equivalent
