We are looking for an entry level Support Assistant who will work in the Surgical Skills Center. This employee performs a variety of basic to moderately complex clerical tasks to support assigned area. This position may provide secretarial support. You will be working in the Surgical Skills Center, and function as the front desk person who will screen calls and direct visitors. The support assistant will open and unlock the center daily, and then lockup or close everything down at the end of their shift. You will coordinate help from our maintenance team and schedule biohazard pickup. This employee is in charge of making sure the breakroom, and exam rooms have the adequate supplies. They will schedule sessions for users, answer general inquiries about courses offered in the Surgical Skill Center, and provide basic instructions to users.

Position Summary:

Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Basic knowledge of standard Office Software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year related work experience required. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
