Job description
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining the web applications and backend services that will power our customer experience. This includes:
- Designing and building backend web services and APIs to power web applications
- Designing and building modern and responsive web applications using state of the art web application frameworks
- Building out our technical infrastructure to meet the demands of a growing user base
- Taking ownership over projects end to end, bringing them from vision to reality
- Working with product owners from creation of vision to QA of final product
- Establish best practices for our codebase, building reusable, testable, scalable and well documented code.
- Participate in our research projects
- Work to develop the long-term technical vision
- Take a leading role in implementing a customer pilot through supporting the software development process
- Assist in to develop collaborative and strategic relationships with relevant academic and industry organizations
Qualifications
Applicants should have experience designing, building, and maintaining web services and web applications from scratch, and should have participated in several iterations of a product launch. This is a technical leadership role that will give the opportunity to establish a core part of our company's technology.
- BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of prior full stack experience in modern web services / web application development
- Development experience in Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++
- Experience with markup languages such as HTML
- Experience with structured data development using data representations in XML or JSON
- Web application development experience
- Significant experience developing customer-facing software
- Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity
- Knowledge of web libraries and frameworks such as React, AngularJS, Polymer or Closure.
- Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server applications
- Experience developing applications for Amazon AWS or Google Cloud Platform

Syllable is open to consideration of candidates at varying levels of experience and responsibility, subject to meeting the basic qualifications of the position. As such, the salary range for this position is $110-$220K. The range of compensation for this role takes into account the variety of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to pay band placement, skillset, experience and training, licensure and certification, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. All compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
