Contract Sound Designer

Are You Passionate About Sound Design and Music Production?

Future Audio Workshop, the creators of the SubLab XL synth, is looking for a Contract Sound Designer to help create innovative, sample-based instruments that inspire artists worldwide. Our instruments are used in hit tracks from artists like Baby Keem and Lil Uzi Vert, and we’re dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sound in modern music production.

What You’ll Do:

• Create Sample-Based Instruments: Design and develop sample-based instruments using a mix of analog and digital synthesis, tailored to popular genres like US hip-hop, R&B, and house music.

• Innovative Sound Processing: Process samples with effects, tape, and hardware to craft high-quality, characterful sounds that elevate music production.

• Vocal Recording and Processing: Work with vocal samples to add depth and uniqueness to instrument libraries (experience in this area is a plus).

• Collaborate on Cutting-Edge Libraries: Join our team in creating libraries that align with current production trends and push creative boundaries.

• Export in SF2 Format: Use SampleRobot or similar tools to prepare and export finalized instruments as SoundFont (SF2) files for seamless integration into our product lineup.

What We’re Looking For:

• Production Style Expertise: Strong familiarity with the latest styles in US hip-hop, R&B, and house music, and a passion for staying up-to-date with these genres.

• Sound Design Proficiency: Experience in sound design and sampling using both digital and analog equipment to create unique and inspiring instruments.

• Vocal Processing Knowledge: Experience with recording and processing vocals to create lush and interesting textures is a big plus.

• SampleRobot Proficiency: Experience with SampleRobot or similar tools to export high-quality instruments in SoundFont (SF2) format.

• Detail-Oriented and Collaborative: Able to work closely with our team to bring innovative concepts to life with a high level of detail and quality.
