As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our agency, ensuring accurate and efficient management of bookkeeping, accounting, and other operational processes. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining agency stability and supporting growth through meticulous financial management. As our first in-house finance manager, you’ll be implementing new tools, and processes, and contributing to our broader agency development. 

What You’ll Do

Agency Finance

  • Manage all agency financial operations, including expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, payroll, and contractor payment management.

  • Manage 401k contributions and state tax registration/reporting.

  • Manage Finance-related HR tasks, such as setting up new employees in Gusto. 

  • Prepare and present monthly P&L statements; assist with forecasts and budget preparation.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting best practices and accurate financial record-keeping.

  • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, identifying variances and trends that require attention or action.

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial performance to help drive agency growth and profitability.

  • Implement and contribute to process development and improvement, helping to connect our various tools and systems.

  • Develop and implement improved insights and reporting capabilities, including financial forecasting.

Project and Account Finance

  • Support Account Management teams by assisting with setup and closeout of new accounts, budget tracker management, and dashboard monitoring support.

  • Support Account Managers in tracking project profitability and margin management.

  • Collaborate with the Media team on paid media billing reporting for client invoicing.

Operations 

  • Support on operations projects within the resource management, management, people experience, recruitment, and onboarding spaces as needed.

What You’ll Bring 

  • You have at least 8 years of experience in accounting and financial management, ideally in a small to mid-sized agency environment.

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • You’re impeccably organized, possess a strong attention to detail and  passion for accuracy.

  • You have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.

  • You're skilled Quickbooks, and are excited about learning new financial and operational tools.  

  • You are knowledgeable in both state and federal tax laws and are comfortable managing the associated processes and paperwork to ensure compliance.

  • You've demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and clearly communicate findings & insights.

  • You're experienced in developing and implementing financial processes and controls. 

  • You’re eager to contribute to agency operations beyond finance, with a strong desire to learn and engage in new areas of the business.

  • You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance team members.

  • You bring a collaborative, patient, and detail-oriented approach to your work.

  • You're self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to new situations and challenges.

  • You're comfortable utilizing active listening, negotiation, and decision-making skills to navigate complex financial scenarios.

  • You have a high level of integrity and professionalism, with a strong track record of managing sensitive and confidential information.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. This role is based in NYC (Brooklyn) with a flexible hybrid work schedule.
