So, even if you feel that you’re close but not an exact match, we encourage you to apply.Overview:Gallagher’s Specialty Actuarial Solutions is a stable and growing practice that provides Other Post-Employment Benefits Other than Pensions (OPEB) consulting, IBNR certifications, Medicare Part D studies, health plan actuarial value testing, and other health care actuarial services to a large volume of public and private sector clients. The primary book of business is in the OPEB consulting space, and we are rapidly growing the team to add an OPEB Actuary/Actuarial Analyst to the team. This is an outstanding opportunity to engage with clients, digging into the numbers, and grow into a lead consultant on existing OPEB clients and develop into an OPEB expert.How you'll make an impact:• Ability to perform and explain actuarial results to Senior Actuaries.• Ability to research current actuarial topics and ASOP guidelines.• Comprehends employer sponsored compliance perspectives with respect to GASB, ASC, and SOP accounting standards.• Ability to work on multiple projects and excel in a fast-paced environment while focusing on the accuracy of results.About you:Desired Skills and Proficiencies:• Pursuing the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation or is already an ASA, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Enrolled Actuary (EA) designation is a plus, but not required for this level.• Experience with retiree medical plan actuarial valuations (e.g., required accounting reports, liability determination, funding analysis, etc.).• Experience producing health care actuarial results and enjoy being involved at various levels of the employer sponsored health care consulting work.• Excels at managing personal workflow, and overall project management.• Communicates and works cooperatively with Senior Actuaries.Additional Requirements:• Expertise in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
