Quality Tester - Marine

OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Quality Tester for the Marine Products team in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the testing of Garmin’s products and software in a team-oriented environment.Essential Functions• Develop understanding of quality assurance principles/methodologies in performance of essential functions• Develop knowledge of Garmin product specifications, capabilities and operation related to the market segment being supported• Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures of simple complexity, in accordance with established Garmin test procedures• Document defects in a defect management system and report defects to developers• Collect/analyze test results and beta user feedback (when applicable)• Investigate/verify issues reported to quality assurance for validity and reproducibility• Work closely with engineering to assist in problem resolution• Verify software modifications in new software versions to prepare for implementation• Assist in test case maintenance as necessary to keep repository current• Assist in training new quality assurance associatesBasic Qualifications• High School Diploma or equivalent• Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)• Excellent organizational/analytical skills and a strong technical aptitude• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDesired Qualifications• Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification from 2 year college or technical school• Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)• Previous work experience executing test cases and reporting results• Previous experience using or testing devices related to a Garmin core product market• Comfortable working independently (with minimal supervision) and with a team• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment• Experience or interest in working with marine electronicsGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
