Job Description SummaryServices Technology Acceleration Centre (STAC) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Shop Clean/Strip/Metlab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing cleaning, stripping, and metallurgical laboratory (Metlab) tasks on components to prepare them for repair and inspection.Job DescriptionDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Cleaning and Stripping: Clean and strip aerospace components using various cleaning agents, solvents, and equipment. Remove paint, corrosion, rust, and other contaminants from surfaces to prepare them for inspection and repair. Follow safety procedures and guidelines when handling and using cleaning agents and equipment.• Metallurgical Laboratory (Metlab) Tasks: Prepare samples for metallurgical analysis using cutting, grinding, polishing, and etching techniques. Conduct metallurgical tests and examinations, such as microstructure analysis, hardness testing, and grain size measurement. Interpret and analyze metallurgical data to identify material properties, defects, and anomalies.• Equipment and Inventory Management: Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance. Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning agents, solvents, consumables, and spare parts. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and supplies.• Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance and repair activities. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards and risks in the MRO shop.• Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.• Ability and willingness to follow all STAC safety regulations.• Ability and willingness to follow all health, waste, and chemical regulations.Minimum Requirements:• Associates degree or High School diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.• 3+ years of experience in a chemical cleaning manufacturing environment.• 3+ years of experience with standard chemistry techniques such as pH adjustments, titrations, specific gravity testing.Desired Characteristics:• Excellent computer skills to include experience with MS Office.• Well organized and self-directed worker.• Basic fluency with the English language.Additional InformationGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
