Job Description SummaryThe HR Coordinator for the Bangor, Maine GE Vernova facility will be the linchpin in the efficient functioning of the Human Resources department. This role will encompass a wide range of tasks including recruitment, onboarding, event management, and communications. Additionally, the HR Coordinator will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee engagement through various initiatives. This is an onsite role.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities• Manage the full recruitment cycle by advertising hourly positions, conducting resume screenings to identify top candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating logistics, facilitating interview debrief sessions, and providing valuable feedback to managers to support decision-making processes.• Coordinate new hire onboarding, including extending job offers, conducting comprehensive orientations for new employees, reviewing benefits packages, ensuring timely completion of required paperwork, and overseeing the integration process into appropriate databases and systems, and overseeing adherence to the onboarding standard work process.• Oversee comprehensive plant-wide initiatives, encompassing holiday events, open houses, monthly gatherings, and other related activities, ensuring their successful planning, communication and execution.• Lead the Employee Events Committee to spearhead and organize a variety of engaging activities, fostering employee involvement and participation.• Support and coordinate career fairs, community outreach, and local events aimed at promoting GE Vernova Bangor.• Offer administrative assistance to the plant manager by aiding in room scheduling for meetings utilizing online systems (e.g Outlook Calendars) and ensuring timely communication with relevant stakeholders. Administer/maintain Bangor Site Distribution Lists (DLs).• Oversee and generate monthly employee newsletters, managing content creation, editing, printing and distribution to ensure timely and informative communication. Additionally, coordinate with various departments to gather relevant updates, achievements, and announcements for inclusion in the newsletters.• Participate in HR roadmap exercises and take the lead on project management for identified priorities throughout the year. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze HR processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.• Support the administration of internship programs, which involves assisting with advertising efforts, coordinating onboarding processes and addressing additional program requirements as necessary.• Oversee the HR database Access system, ensuring that it remains current and accurate while also providing essential data points for matrices as required. This includes managing user access, maintaining data integrity, and generating reports to support decision-making processes within the organization.• Provide backup support to the Payroll/HR Coordinator.• Perform other duties as assigned. Such as but not limited to:• Inhouse rewards system (Powerpoint)• Training Matrix – tracking and oversight• Employee gift managementQualifications/Requirements• Minimum of 2 years human resources experience and Associates degree, or• 4 years human resources experience and high school diplomaDesired Education/Experience• Bachelor’s degree in HR management or related field• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to innovate and think creatively• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Access• Experience with HRIS systems (i.e. Workday)• Familiarity and knowledge of employment laws/regulations.• Experience working with confidential information.Other Requirements/Responsibilities• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required.• Obey all safety rules including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in designated areas.• Comply with all practices and procedures including the GE Bangor Handbook, the Code of Mutual Respect, and the GE Spirit & Letter.• Qualify for and utilize specialized personal protective equipment (e.g. respirator), as required for the position.• Perform a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities by effectively utilizing cross-training and multi-skilling. This includes, but is not limited to, operating multiple machines simultaneously within the same shop/area and based on business needs.• Foster a safety culture by engaging in and supporting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits, training sessions, related activities, and compliance with Life-Saving Rules (LSR).• Ensure that all products consistently meet or exceed the quality standards and customer expectations. Additionally, identify and address any quality issues promptly to maintain high standards and customer satisfaction.• Deliver the products/services right the first time, every time, with focus, using standard work and lean to ensure both safety and quality objectives are met and sustained.• Embrace innovation and a continuous improvement/lean mindset through collaborative efforts with Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost/Culture initiatives supporting the overall success of the Bangor and GE Vernova Teams.• Innovate and solve problems rapidly with rigor, transparency, and to Stop Work when needed.• Complete all required certifications promptly and within designated timeframes.• Adhere to established company standard work procedures and continuously seek process improvements.• Complete all required training promptly and thoroughly.• Treat others with dignity and respect while being committed to proactively solving problems, raising concerns, and working collaboratively as one team.• Communicate with transparency, integrity, and respect to foster positive working relationships.• Take ownership of work and roles/responsibilities so each individual and each team is accountable for delivering on commitments.Job Assessment/Interview Requirements• Must attend a job shadow/overview prior to assessment.• Must be able to successfully complete assessment(s) and interview.
