We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day technical support services, locally or remotely, to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware.
Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop, or mobile systems, workstations, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
Tests and evaluates commercial and Laboratory developed software for quality control and proper operation.
Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.
Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Familiarity with Ticketing Support Software
Experience providing remote IT support
Experience performing IT troubleshooting
Strong customer service skills
Desired Skills
Active DOE “Q” Clearance is preferred, but not required
Experience with ServiceNow Ticketing
Experience with RDP or Baumgard for support
