We are seeking a Piping Engineer to join our team supporting the Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
Provide CNS Mission Engineering with full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.
Provide design output documentation to support major facility modifications.
Develop design output documents such as drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
Work with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design outputs.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed
Experience in ASME B31.3 Process Piping Design.
Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.
Desired Skills
Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment.
