Gemini is a leading global crypto and Web3 platform committed to providing secure and innovative financial products. We are seeking a hands-on Staff Security Engineer to lead threat detection and response efforts, developing scalable security tools and mentoring a growing team.

Skills

Expertise in threat detection, incident response, or security engineering
Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar automation and detection languages
Experience with detection platforms like Splunk and EDR tools
Hands-on knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
Strong communication skills, especially under pressure

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and own detection logic and alerting pipelines across diverse data sources
Lead investigations of high-severity security incidents and conduct postmortem reviews
Build and maintain automation for scalable response and analysis
Mentor security engineers on detection engineering, response workflows, and code quality
Develop internal tools to test, tune, and improve detection capabilities
Collaborate across teams to enhance security data coverage and context

Education

Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields
