GDIT’s Military Health Team is hiring a Senior Research Scientist to support combat casulty care research withing the 59th Medical Wing (59 MDW) Science and Technology (ST) office located at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.The 59th MDW advises and conducts clinical and translational research on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the Air Expeditionary Force and the health of Air Force (AF) personnel and beneficiaries. In order to support the required research, ST offices conduct translational research in the areas of emergency medical care, combat casualty care, force health protection, restorative medicine, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and specialty centers.Learn More about the mission HEREWHAT YOU'LL DO TO MAKE AN IMPACT:• Responsible for planning, designing, monitoring, coordinating, analyzing and producing scientific content for preclinical/clinical and regulatory documents.• Manages and reviews medical writing of study protocols, statistical analysis and study reports.• Develops, designs, and executes large and complex research projects, reviews progress, analyses data and evaluates results. Collect and organize project related information; plan and assist with related project data/information collection, management and reporting.• Formulates research methods and suggests options for improving quality; identifies potential problems and recommends and implements solutions.• Review regulatory and administrative compliance documentation for associated research studies.• Consults with users to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research requirements; collaborates in development of new techniques and instruments.• Develop presentation materials, research Standard Operating Procedures, and present findings at technical and professional meetings. Support consultants and project managers with files, correspondence, schedules, and presentation graphics.• Prepare experimental subjects, set-up experimental equipment, and aid in training and development of experimental subjects for experimental procedures in accordance with approved preclinical and clinical protocols. Develop deliverables and reports in support of research protocol(s).• Provide support in development of establishment of in vivo and in vitro model systems, data acquisition, and data analysis.• Oversee personnel associated with the projects and manage data. Perform surgical procedures on animal models for both survival and non-survival• Organizes, maintains the laboratory, researches and recommends equipment and maintains documentation and storage of biomaterials.• Co-authors/authors scientific publications; presents at meetings and conferences; participates in acquiring research funding including writing grant proposals. Writing preclinical and clinical protocols.• Manages and reviews medical writing of study protocols, statistical analysis and study reports.• May require occasional weekend and evening hours.What You’ll Need (required):• PhD in the biological sciences.• 8+ yeas of relevant experience.• Proven expertise in working animal models (murine and porcine).• 8+ years of experience directly related to the assigned biological laboratory and/or conducting small/large animal surgeries.• 5+ years of experience leading and/or supervising laboratory personnel and activities.• Operational knowledge of advanced lab equipment.• Must successfully complete AALAS accreditation training for working with laboratory animals and remain current.• Must successfully complete and maintain CITI training.• US citizen with the ability to pass a T3 security investigation.WHAT GDIT CAN OFFER YOU:• 401K with company match• Customizable health benefits packages• Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career• Challenging work that makes a real impact on the world around you• Full-flex work week#gditpriority#GDITHealth#GDITFedHealthJobs #MilitaryHealthGDITJobs
