The role

As GM of the Loans Business Unit, you will be empowered to deliver the success of this product. You will be in charge of this business unit with full P&L responsibility. You will lead and develop a strong cross-functional management team and report to the CEO, being accountable to the MarketFinance functional leadership team. The MarketFinance leadership team will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring on a wide range of topics that you will need to become an expert in in order to execute against your business plan. Your business unit will be targeted on a balanced scorecard of KPIs, encompassing revenue, risk appetite and sustainability indicators. While certain processes will have to be aligned across the company (e.g. the promotion and pay review process), you will have decision making authority for everything in your business unit, including all hiring, promotion and team decisions, product roadmap, marketing strategy, etc.

Your responsibilities

• Create a strategy for scaling your product
• Build a team, recruiting internally and externally
• Managing and motivating your team to achieve specific goals for your business unit (growth/profitability/return on investment)
• Set priorities and ensure alignment of efforts across your business unit
• Day-to-day management of the business unit as GM
• Full P&L responsibility
• Org and process design
• Reporting to the MarketFinance CEO and leadership team

Requirements

Specific experience we are looking for

• Customer success focus
• Track record of scaling a business / being part of a scaling business
• Managing more than one team discipline
• Evidence of ability to plan and execute against a plan
• Data-driven decision making
• Understanding and managing tension between internal teams (e.g. Sales and Risk Management or Compliance)
• Strategic commercial background
• Experience in finance / fintech is will be viewed favourably
