Linux Engineer/3rd Shift

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Linux Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX. This is a 12 + month contract position.Responsibilities:• Manage and implement end-to-end Linux based infrastructure that hosts many critical core components such as Database, GRID Computing, Enterprise Job Schedulers Messaging Platforms• Support and monitor application infrastructure and various internal core components and dependent technologies• Ensure application issues on supported infrastructures are addressed, proactively fixed even before user impact• Work on tool development, automation, release management, troubleshooting issues, Capacity DR planning• Monitor of the Core environment components• Process adherence and efficiency in handling Incident and problem management• Be able to connect the dots and conclude complex Infrastructure issues quickly• Provide analysis of Core and LOB Infrastructure capacity review to ensure a sufficient level of infrastructure capacity, availability, and resiliency• Design, document and automate Core component per Datacenter disaster recovery plans• Develop Core Tools and Automation• Document Lesson Learned Knowledge Articles on various technical issues• Provide governance and oversight to stakeholders to ensure that core platform is fully compliant with the firm's disaster recovery policies and standardsRequirements:• Excellent knowledge in Linux OS internals and Operational OS skills• Expertise in handling overall IT Infrastructure Scheduled maintenance• Excellent Operational skills, troubleshooting Production issues and identifying Root Cause Prevention• Knowledge in Python/Shell/Perl scripting• Understands overall infrastructure well and ability to understand different technologies (In-house/Open source/Third-party)• Good interpersonal skills and experience in working with different regional teams (AMRS, EMEA ASIA)• This role requires 3rd shift working hours and occasional weekend support• Good understanding of financial terms and Banking experience within EquitiesPay Range: $53.52 - $61.52Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!About Genesis10:Ranked a Top Staffing Firm in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analysts for six consecutive years, Genesis10 puts thousands of consultants and employees to work across the United States every year in contract, contract-for-hire, and permanent placement roles.
