Controller (Consumer goods)

Our client is a leading manufacturing company based in Chicago, IL, known for its innovative products and commitment to quality in the beauty space. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Controller to join their team and contribute to their financial excellence.

The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting operations within the company. This role requires a strong background in cost accounting, financial reporting, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead and manage a team.

• Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain the company’s cost accounting system, ensuring accurate costing of products and inventory valuation.
• Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities to support the company’s strategic planning initiatives.
• Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Coordinate and oversee annual audits and tax filings.
• Implement and maintain effective accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
