What You’ll Do 

As a Data Engineering Intern you will be instrumental in assisting with the digitization of our data and the integration of large language models (LLMs) to enhance our data processing and transformation workflows. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Azure and other cutting-edge data engineering tools. The intern will work closely with our data engineering team to develop and refine ETL pipelines, ensuring the seamless integration and accuracy of historical data. We prioritize security and efficiency, relying heavily on Microsoft products and Azure to safeguard our sensitive information. Our ideal intern should be eager to learn and demonstrate a keen interest in mastering Microsoft technologies and data engineering practices. 

Hours: 20–40 hours per week(flexible) 

Duration: 3 – 6months 

• Assist in digitizing and processing data using Python. 
• Develop and refine prompts to extract detailed information from career history documents and accurately label data. 
• Iteratively improve the quality of extracted data through prompt engineering and feedback cycles. 
• Collaborate on writing ETL pipelines to clean, normalize, and integrate data into historical databases. 
• Scale and schedule ETL jobs using Apache Airflow. 
• Ensure pipelines are robust, efficient, and well-documented. 
• Gain hands-on experience with Azure services, including OpenAI integration. 
• Apply data engineering tools and libraries, such as pandas, to solve real-world problems. 

• Currently pursuingand Undergrador Masters in a STEM related major 
• A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems, effectively working with the team, actively participating in meetings and sharing progress updates. 
• A learning mindset, seeking guidance and feedback from team members to enhance learning and performance. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to share findings and technical details clearly and concisely.  
• Passion and curiosity for the topic

Compensation  

Certain US jurisdictions require ghSMART to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Compensation for this role in the United States is $20 - $30/ hour.
