Sr Counsel, Government Contracting

The Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Affairs (LCCA) team is seeking a highly motivated attorney to assist with timely, business-oriented legal advice on government contracts, including any contract claims, investigations, disclosures, dispute resolution, and litigation, along with general legal and compliance advice. The candidate will report to the VP, Compliance and will work closely with the Compliance, Legal and Operational teams to anticipate business needs as GHX continues to expand its government contracting offerings and assist in developing practical solutions with agility and action, along with securing and advancing the company’s mission and customers’ expectations. 

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the VP, Compliance, you will serve as a trusted adviser on a range of corporate legal matters. 
  • Proposal development, drafting, negotiating, contract performance, and dispute resolution in connection with the federal government, including international programs.
  • Provide legal guidance on the Company’s corporate compliance related to FedRAMP, FAR, DFARS and regulations.
  • Advise on international business development, contracting and regulatory compliance matters, including ITAR, EAR, FCPA, and trade compliance regulations.
  • Support the VP, Compliance on other compliance matters as needed
  • Provide legal support for ad-hoc projects coming from various departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • J D. required
  • Admission to, and in good standing in, any state bar in the United States.
  • 8+ years of directly transferable experience advising clients on U.S. federal government contract matters.
  • 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the FAR/DFARS as well as those requirements unique to contracting with the federal government.
  • Experienced with federal government inter-agency contracts and contracting procedures.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all levels of management and government agency personnel, including OIG and DCMA.
  • Experience advising on internal investment, product development, intellectual property, and data rights protection along with other topics as needed to various departments and stakeholders.
  • Must possess sound judgment and ability to prioritize and be capable of working successfully in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person to all levels of the business, including senior management.
  • Ability to be nimble and adaptable to a variety of legal questions and concerns.
  • A high integrity, low ego, team player who takes a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Hard working, well organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize requests and oversee and improve complex business and legal processes under time pressures and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of technology transactions and delivery of SaaS products.
  • Prior in-house, corporate legal department experience a plus, but not required.

The compensation range for Sr Counsel, Government Contracting is $180,000 - $200,000 

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
