GIS Application Developer

Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. Performs customized programming scripts, data acquisition, field work, data entry, update and quality control. Produces GIS products such as layers, maps, and dashboards to assist campus planning efforts. Designs and develops GIS applications ( Survey123 and Field Maps), databases and user interfaces as instructed. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:


50% - Essential - GIS/Planning Project Development:
Under the supervision of the GIS Manager, design, develop, and implement GIS projects to support campus planning and the modeling and visualization of campus resources, infrastructure systems, and planned/proposed campus developments. Conduct data analysis utilizing GIS tools to clarify and communicate spatial relationships and planning concepts to campus stakeholders in a clear, appropriate manner.

35% - Essential - GIS Maintenance / Data Collection:
Assist GIS Manager with day-to-day maintenance, development, and management of GIS system and associated databases. Assist GIS Manager in developing and documenting GIS policies, procedures, plans, standards and workflow enhancements.

Collect data by way of Field Maps, Survey123, research and from various existing files. Create and manage layers and host layers in ArcGIS Online. Collaborate with external partners on data collection and analysis methods. Determine additional data and collection reporting requirements.

10% - Essential - Collaborate with various Clemson University Departments
Continue to develop positive relationships representing Facilities GIS. Interact with various departments within facilities and outside of Facilities Department promoting GIS solutions and collaborations.

5% - Essential - Safety:
Promotes a safe workplace and safe work practices. Responsible for compliance with
all applicable OSHA safety mandates and enforcement of Clemson's LOTO policy,
excavation safety and confined space entry safety. Adheres to all EPA/DHEC rules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


Education - Bachelor's Degree in geography; Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise; Python, JavaScript, Arcade, HTML, and CSS programming languages. Utility infrastructure and asset infrastructure experience. Experience with ESRI APIs and SDKs.

Licenses: Driver's License Class D normal 26,000.

WORK SCHEDULE:


Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Standard Hours: 37.5

Expected Salary Range: ($ 57,600.00 - $ 75,000.00)

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL


Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
