Job Title: Data Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis
 
Role and Responsibilities:
This full-time position will be responsible for shaping financial planning and driving analysis across all lines of business for Global Music Rights. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support annual revenue forecasting process (bottoms up by line of business) and quarterly re-forecasts including variance analysis vs budget. Leverage data technology/AI to manage large data sets and build growth assumptions.
  • Prepare monthly executive and Board reports in conjunction with the heads of each line of business including new revenue reporting, non-recurring revenue tracking and close accruals for accounting department.
  • Manage quarterly category margin and revenue retention reporting.
  • Build and maintain annual revenue seasonality forecasts by category.
  • Collaborate with parent company finance team to update and streamline reporting and dashboard templates/presentations.
  • Support the creation of the company’s revenue growth strategy and plans for each line of business (digital, general licensing, TV, radio).
  • Track and evaluate KPIs to assess sales team performance and the ROI of key strategic initiatives.
  • Run ad hoc data analysis on key strategic questions that help accelerate the growth of the business. Work closely with key company executives to shape company strategy and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with other team members from key functions within the business to run analysis and shape thinking.

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning, consulting and/or banking (preferably in the media, tech, or telecommunications industry)
  • Ability to lead thorough quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Solid business & financial acumen
  • Growth-minded approach to deliver actionable insights, provide compelling analysis, and generate meaningful business impact
  • Confident, rigorous, and intellectually curious
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple complex projects
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
 
Preferred Skills:
  • NetSuite or Salesforce experience
  • Experience with budgeting/forecasting systems implementation
  • Data visualization (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.) experience
The compensation range for this role is: $85K - $95K annually depending upon experience.
Our offices are located in Westwood Village, Los Angeles, CA. Employees work in the office Monday through Thursday and from home on Fridays. We offer a very competitive benefits package, annual bonus, and a creative and dynamic working environment.
