License Addictions Councilor

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Virtual Licensed Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing professional counseling services to individuals struggling with substance abuse or addiction. This is a remote position, allowing the counselor to work from home while offering essential support to clients through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions via video calls, phone, or chat to help clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to the client's unique needs and goals.
  • Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify the severity of addiction and mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social service agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Guide clients in coping strategies, relapse prevention techniques, and long-term recovery planning.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of client sessions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with HIPAA and ethical guidelines.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary and offer appropriate referrals for additional support services.
  • Facilitate family counseling sessions or support group meetings when relevant to the client's recovery.
  • Stay updated with the latest addiction treatment methods, therapies, and continuing education requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and active license as an Addiction Counselor (LPC, LAC, LMHC, etc.) in the state of practice.
  • Master’s degree in Addiction Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in addiction counseling, including experience with substance abuse, mental health issues, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong understanding of addiction recovery models and therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and empathy skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing a virtual caseload.
  • Proficiency with online counseling platforms, EMR systems, and telehealth technology.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as Substance Abuse Counseling (CSAC) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including adolescents, veterans, or individuals with dual diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support networks for individuals in recovery.
  • Ability to engage and motivate clients throughout the recovery process.
