Global Payroll Lead

The Basics:

We are looking for a Global Payroll Lead to join the Global Payroll team and lead the payroll process in the US, along with a number of international countries. The ideal candidate is experienced in US and International Payroll Operations and has a passion for innovative payroll solutions. This position will foster relationships with senior internal stakeholders by establishing and maintaining exceptional business relationships and working collaboratively with other organizational teams. The candidate is expected to handle day-to-day payroll operations, support new and existing pay programs, supervise outsourced payroll processing vendors, and drive process standardization, automation, and improvement.

What you'll do:

• Own the outsourced vendor processing of US and international payrolls.
• Compile payroll input files and provide these to the outsourced payroll vendor for processing.
• Review payroll outputs for accuracy, ensuring that all inputs have been correctly captured and processed.
• Assist with month end close activities such as payroll journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Act as subject matter expert in the area of US and international payroll providing valuable insights, guidance and assistance to other team members and internal stakeholders.
• Respond to employee inquiries and serve as liaison between employee and third-party providers.
• Audit, reconcile and fund 401k contributions associated with each payroll. Research and resolve discrepancies.
• Work cross-functionally with departments such HR, IT, Legal and Accounting to facilitate and improve payroll processes, including benefits and withholdings (e.g., leave of absence, employee benefits, 401k, FSA etc.). Ensure best practices are being followed to eliminate errors.
• Review payroll reporting and ensure accurate and timely filings with appropriate government authorities.
• Assist with payroll related audits, such as workers compensation and 401k.
• Provide ad-hoc support and services on special projects and implementations as needed.
• Complete quarter-end and year-end reconciliations for tax filings and W-2 filings.

We're looking for someone with:

• 7+ years of end-to-end payroll processing including companies with 1,000+ employees.
• CPP preferred.
• US payroll subject matter expertise.
• Technical skills: Thorough knowledge of payroll-related state, legal, tax, and compliance requirements.
• Systems experience: PwC Global Payroll, SAP SuccessFactors, NetSuite a plus.
• Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and best practices.
• Excellent management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage projects and contribute to process improvement.
• Strong attention to detail
• Payroll accounting experience a plus.
• International payroll experience a plus.
• Systems implementation experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Equity issues and how they relate to payroll reporting and tax (RSU, NQ, ISO)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, high-energy attitude geared towards achieving excellent customer service.
• Ability to operate in a fast paced, rapidly evolving, and data driven organization.

What you'll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $65,000 to $190,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
