About the Role – You will:
- Conduct comprehensive supply market and supplier economic analysis to formulate a strategic sourcing plan that identifies new/suitable suppliers, optimizes cost models, and proactively ensures continuity of supply.
- Analyze supplier spend and develop overall supplier negotiation and engagement strategies, including maintaining strong supplier relationships, visiting suppliers’ facilities, and following up with suppliers to meet committed deliverables and deadlines.
- Source parts at 95%+ OTTS (on time to source) within two weeks of ECO release and outside of supplier lead time, supporting New Product Introduction
- Utilize Oracle for part setup and planning
- Develop suppliers to improve performance and manage supplier relationships.
- Lead Contract/LTA negotiations and drive compliance, all while ensuring cost, quality, capacity, delivery, and capability are met and sustained.
- Drive cost-down initiatives with engineering and finance teams by design modifications, resourcing, and pure negotiations with the supply base.
- Collaborate with engineering on new product development activities to support projects, align design with our strategic supply base, and deliver products on time, at or below cost.
- Identify risk areas within the supply chain and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Be able to influence others on changes to the supply chain.
- Provide regular feedback to suppliers to improve long-term and short-term performance.
- Propose best value suppliers to the stakeholders, using fact-based analysis and clean sheet/should cost analysis.
- Be able to build long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate and work closely cross-functionally with multiple departments to achieve business goals.
- Analyze procurement and purchasing data.
- Solicit suppliers for their Buy America Certificates, DBE, USMCA, and other certifications
- Conduct additional tasks and prioritizes based on business needs.

- This position will be part of the Sourcing team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations.
- You will report to the Sourcing Manager and collaborate with other Sourcing team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facilities in Greer, SC and Greenville, SC.

Your Experience Includes:
- 3+ years of purchasing experience, including Global Supply Chain experience
- Bachelor’s degree in the supply chain, business, engineering, or finance
- Customer-focused attitude, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
- Strong negotiations skills. Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Strategic Sourcing experience needed
- Strong Understanding of ERP Tools is needed. Having Oracle experience is a plus
- Tableau experience is a plus
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- MBA in Business, Finance, and Supply Chain is a plus.
- Ability to read drawings and blueprints.
- Previous experience with EV technology is a plus.
- Experience in Financial Accounting.
- Proven track record on cost reductions initiatives and contract negotiations.
