UX Visual Designer, Help Experience

Minimum qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, Product, Industrial, etc.), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.• 1 year of experience in product design or User Experience (UX).• Experience with industry standard design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVisio, Figma, Principle, etc.).• Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).Preferred qualifications:• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.• 3 years of experience working with designers, researchers, engineers, content strategists, and product managers throughout the design process (e.g., creating user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups/prototypes).• Ability to manage design issues, develop innovative solutions that address user pain points.• Ability to create compelling motion and visual designs, showcased through a combination of academic projects, personal initiatives, internships.• Ability to acquire new skills and knowledge, and make products globally inclusive and accessible.About The JobAt Google, Visual Designers weave iconography, typography, color, space and texture together to help our users successfully navigate our products. Like all of our UX jobs, you’ll collaborate with your fellow designers to constantly refine the Google design language and create innovative, great-looking products that people love to use.In this role, you will work directly with end users to ensure they use our products to their fullest potential. You will craft delightful experiences for the Google Help Experience. You will work with cross-functional partners to bring simplicity and elegance to complexity. You will create compelling design concepts and delightful user experiences that will directly influence the direction for new and emerging products.User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and personalities. Our work touches billions while exemplifying a key principle that is core to Google’s philosophy: “Focus on the user and all else will follow.”The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$150,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google .Responsibilities• Create visual design directions for projects within the Help Experience team.• Deliver high-quality designs that are simple, cohesive, inclusive and holistic from concept to execution.• Advocate for user-centered designs and work on last-mile refinement and polish.• Collaborate with design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build innovative products.• Communicate design intent and express concepts visually, support accessibility, internationalization, and product excellence, and use motion to communicate experience ideas.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
