Chief Engineer Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Engineer to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to drive our engineering projects and initiatives. The Chief Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions that align with our company’s goals and objectives.We are a medium-sized metal building manufacturer specializing in the design, detailing, and fabrication of innovative metal building solutions. Join our team and be a part of our exciting journey in shaping the future of our company.Chief Engineer Key Responsibilities:• Structural Design: Perform the structural design for metal buildings utilizing hot-rolled steel, built-up plate girders, and light-gage cold-formed steel. Design mezzanines, open-web joists, crane systems, light-gage cold-formed secondary. Evaluate roof and wall cladding systems based on manufacturer-provided load tables. Implement lateral bracing systems using steel moment frames and braced frames.• Design Review: Review the design work performed by the engineering team member(s) for code conformance, fabrication efficiency, erection compatibility, and load path.• Load Analysis: Determine building loading criteria using ASCE 7, including wind, seismic, live, dead, collateral, and rain loads.• Plan Development: Develop and review erection plans and shop drawings for outgoing projects.• Coordination: Coordinate directly with the steel detailing and fabrication department on weld design, connection design, and framing details.• Quality System Implementation: Implement the engineering quality system & IAS certification, including reviewing ASTM material properties of incoming material.• Site Coordination: Attend job site walk-throughs to coordinate with architects, general contractors, and MEP designers.Chief Engineer Qualifications:• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably with a focus on metal building design.• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with the ability to obtain licensure in multiple New England states within 1 year.• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in using structural design software and tools, including but not limited to MBS (Metal Building Software), AutoCAD, and RISA 2D.• Standards Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ASCE 7, IBC, AISI S100 and other relevant building codes and standards.• Project Management: Proven experience in managing large-scale engineering projects from conception to completion.Skills:• Analytical Skills• Communication• Leadership• Detail-oriented• Collaboration• Time ManagementBenefits:• Salary Range: $100,000-$150,000• Performance-based bonuses• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance• Retirement savings plan with company match• Paid time off and holidays• Professional development opportunities• Relocation assistance may be available.Apply here or by sending your application directly to Zac Lubin at zac.lubin@gogpac.com.All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990.
