Do you want to feel valued and be a contributing member of a cohesive team? Our client, a reputable civil construction contractor is seeking a Controller to join their growing team. The right candidate will have a can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and work well as part of a team.Job Responsibilities• Responsible for managing or performing all accounting functions (A/R, A/P, Payroll, QC Enterprise accounting software, banking and cash flow, monthly / annual financial statements, and other internal and external reports).• Responsible for managing accounting and office management staff members.• Responsible for various Office Management areas such as: Human Resources, Benefits Management, Computer/Telecom and other areas as needed.• Responsible for Environmental and Regulatory compliance and reporting.• Oversee year-end and month-end inventory and reconciling.• Prepare journal entries to record daily and monthly financial transactions.Education• College degree in Accounting or other related business majorWork Experience• 10+ years of progressive accounting job experience. Experience with small / medium construction companies and strong Cost Accounting knowledge and experience is preferred.Skills• Supervisor of accounting staff members; strong communication abilities with managers and employees across the company; motivated self-started; identification and implementation of work improvement initiatives.• Possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).• Train, supervise and evaluate department staff.Compensation:• Commensurate with experienceBenefits• Dental Insurance• Health insurance• Life insurance• Paid time off• Vision insuranceBe a part of a company that has a great reputation in the industry and among its employee base!
